Ruff Town Records and Midas Touch CEO, Ricky Osei Agyeman, popularly known as Bullet has reacted to recent comments by Nana Poku Kwarteng, father of the late Ebony Reigns.
In a Facebook post and press statement released by the Former Manager of Ebony Reigns, Bullet disclosed what transpired between his record label and father of the late dancehall artiste with regards to songs royalties and percentage of money accrued from the concert held in her honour.
Bullet stated how Ebony’s father has been part and given more than what he was due before and after burial of the 2018 VGMA artiste of the year, yet threw dust in the eyes of the public and defamed Rufftown Records brand.
Agyeman listed instances where Mr. Kwarteng was paid more than he deserved without even showing appreciation.
He also announced that his label, RuffTown Records is no longer interested in releasing yet-to-be released songs of the late artiste and asked her father to “TAKE EVERYTHING.’
He said, “At the tribute concert, you brought your men to be at the gate to check how much we will make, whatever we made was counted by the bank in presence of your men, Kasapreko and Rufftown… Everything was transparent so why come attack me. I wrote and own 95 percent of ebony’s album, by law ebony is suppose to earn between 10-20 percent royalties but I gave her 40percent.”
According to Bullet, he recently made some payments to Ebony’s father.
“Few weeks ago you received 9300 us dollars from online royalties and you still going round saying bullet is cheating when i have given u 40 percent of my own right instead of 10 or 20percent?”

Mr Kwarteng in a recent interview accused Bullet of dishonest concerning a small percentage of money he was given as money accrued from the concert held in her honour.
“From the concert, all I know is after the deductions that were made by Kasapreko I was showed a photocopy of a cheque worth GHC 39,999,” explained Kwarteng on Adom FM’s ‘Entertainment Hall’ hosted by Mike 2.
“But Bullet brought me GHC 2,000. I have made my life, I have my own money my daughter’s money won’t add up to mine.”
The tribute and vigil concert held at the La Trade Fair was a prelude to her funeral service.
Ebony died after she was involved in a gory accident on the Kumasi–Sunyani road on February 8, 2018 when she was returning to Accra from Sunyani.
Her friend, Franky Kuri, and a Military Man, Atsu Vondee, who is said to be her bodyguard on board a Jeep from Sunyani also died in the head-on collision with a VIP bus heading towards Sunyani from Kumasi.
Her funeral service was held at the forecourt of the State House. She was later buried at the Osu cemetery on Saturday, March 24, 2018.
