Burna Boy explains why he didn’t perform @ Ghana meets Naija

Nigerian Dance-hall artiste, Burna Boy whose performance at this year’s Ghana meets Naija concert was highly anticipated, did not live up to the billing.

Even though the “ladies man” as he is also known, was spotted in town just hours before the concert, he failed to perform on the night of the concert.

Speaking to Joy News before the concert, he said, "I came all the way from overseas to perform and have fun and hopefully everyone will have fun”.

But that turned out to be a hoax.

He later explained his inability to perform citing his ambassadorial position with leading Nigerian telecoms provider, Glo.

With the 2013 Ghana meets Naija concert sponsored by another telecoms giant, MTN, Burna Boy’s contract with Glo meant he could not mount a rival stage.

He however made an appearance and apologized for not being able to perform.

Meanwhile, the 2013 VGMA Artiste of the year, R2Bees were also not available to perform at the concert since as they had to be at the Staples Center in the USA for the 2013 edition of the Black Entertainment Television (BET) Awards.
