Ghanaian dancehall artiste Shatta Wale has advised president Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to buy a new presidential jet after the current one developed a fault last week.
“Mr President, these same Ghanaians voted for you and so if the Presidential Jet is putting your life in danger please and please ..Buy a new one before these same Ghanaians kill u oo ..Gh we talk too much…,” Shatta Wale tweeted.
His tweet comes after Akufo-Addo and his entourage who travelled to the U.S.A for the 73rd session of the UN General Assembly, escaped death by the whiskers following a mid-air fault as they returned to Accra.
ClassFMonline.com sources say one of the engines of the presidential jet developed a fault after take-off.
The aircraft was assisted to land after Mayday calls.
The president and his entourage returned to Ghana safe on a different plane from Washington.
That was not the first time Ghana’s presidential jet had developed a fault.
In March 2015, it caught fire while attempting to take off from the Kotoka International Airport.
Also on 5 December 2014, it developed a fault while flying President John Mahama, delaying his appearance at the 30th National Farmers Day celebrations in the Western Region.
