Rapper Joey B has said that the current campaign to get Djs and Radio and Television stations to feature 80% Ghanaian music on their platforms is “useless”.

There is currently a campaign on social media to get various media platforms to feature 80% Ghanaian music on their platforms.

This campaign started after Zylofon Media signed artistes including Stonebwoy and Shatta Wale were snubbed by Nigerians during the Zylofon Media invasion concert last week.

But speaking in an interview on Gh One TV, Joey B indicated that he sees the campaign as “useless” because it will not help in pushing Ghanaian music beyond the boarders of the country.

He indicated that there is supposed to be a concerted effort at ensuring that artistes support each other so that Ghanaian music is exported out of the country.

He noted that his song “Tonga” made it across all boarders because most people in the industry helped in pushing indicating that similar support should be given to every project a Ghanaian artiste releases and that will help sell Ghana music outside Ghana.

The Tonga hitmaker talking about his competition in the industry indicated that he has no competition with the A-Class artiste but rather sees the upcoming artistes as his competitors because they are bringing something new to the industry.
