Can Nacee win VGMA Artiste of the year?

Nacee Nacee

Though most entertainment connoisseurs have predicted that no gospel artiste can win the ultimate award of the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards, which is the Artiste of the Year, gospel artiste Nana Kwaku Osei aka Nacee is likely to pull a surprise next year.

Nacee is likely to prove them wrong as he released a 9-track album, with three of its promo making serious waves on the radio and television already.

The three songs titled Fire Burn You, Yewo Nyame a Yewo Adze featuring Ernest Opoku and Elevanyo on his latest album titled The Counselor album produced at the Tonehall Studio released a month ago are not only doing well both on radio but also on the music market.

After eight months of no major hit, it creates the platform for an artiste who will work unremittingly from now to December and that is exactly what Nacee and his team are doing. I won’t be surprised if he qualifies for Artiste of the Year category. Considering the criteria which is: “the artiste(s) of the year adjudged by the Academy, board and the general public as the artiste(s) with the highest audience appeal and popularity. The artiste(s) must have released a hit single/album during the year under a year in review,” the possibility of Nacee being nominated in the ultimate category is high.

Already, he has the audience appeal, has a hit song which is being played on almost every morning show in the capital and beyond and an outstanding album to his credit. Nacee qualifies to be nominated at the Gospel song of the year, gospel artiste of the year, Record of the Year, Songwriter of the Year, Album of the Year, Producer of the Year, Male Vocalist of the Year and Overall Artiste of the Year if things go positively like it stands now.

He stands the chance of getting nomination at other genres like: high life and reggae since he has a reggae song and high life doing well as well.

If Nacee gets more than 5 nominations, he is likely to win three or four including Artiste of the year which will make him the first gospel artiste that will win Artiste of the Year in the history of Vodafone Ghana Music Awards for the past seventeen years.
