Popular Ghanaian artist Mr. Drew has expressed his dissatisfaction with the results of the 'Best Collaboration of the Year' category at the 2024 Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMAs).
During an interview with 3Music TV on June 6, 2024, Mr. Drew, whose real name is Andrew Nii Commey Otoo, stated that he was disappointed that his song 'Case' did not win over KiDi's 'Liquor,' despite his belief that 'Case' was the superior song in the category.
Mr. Drew explained that the 'Collaboration of the Year' award should focus on recognizing songs that have had a significant impact on the music scene in Ghana, especially those that feature lesser-known artists and have transformed their careers.
"No song was bigger than 'Case' in that category. I think that featuring an unknown artist yet achieving significant success to the point of changing the lives of the artists involved is what the collaboration of the year should represent," he said.
He called for transparency from the TGMA organizers and mentioned that he was seeking an explanation for the decision-making process that resulted in his song not winning the award.

I was disappointed for not winning the collaboration of the year because no song was bigger than CASE in that category.
