Castro Performs With Asamoah Gyan

THE PERFORMANCE of the Black Stars goal merchant Baby Jet Asamoah Djan in the South Africa 2010 World Cup has sparked off immense interest and love for the young lad who seems to be enjoying a new wave of popularity these days.

Paradoxically, Asamoah Djan is not only a great footballer but a man with many talents and interest. He loves boxing (and can actually box), table tennis and is a full bred musician.

His dexterity in music cannot be over emphasized and this is shown in the latest album of his good old pal Castro Da Destroyer.

The release of ‘African Girls’ and ‘Baby’ (which also feature Nigeria born Soli Baba) is going to spur the Black Star kingpin into stardom, gaining him more recognition in his new field of endeavour.

“Featuring on that song is my first professional stint and it has really exposed me. The offer I have received from other Hiplife musicians to feature on their album has been tremendous and encouraging but I am only waiting for the release of ‘African Girls’ which has been remixed to suit current music happening in the musical industry,” Baby Jet said.

Although he only features on ‘African Girls’, his contribution is going to spice the song, giving it a different flavour and dimension.

Even though this does not overwhelm Gyan, he thinks the sky is the limit and it is his hope that his inclusion as a self made icon will lead to something great with this album.

Being compared to 50Cent at this stage of his musical career can only mean great things for the ‘Hiplife destroyer’, and indeed he has so far distinguished himself with his output.

Apart from the positive response to his music and showmanship, the Sakwaba genius is aware of the downside of the music industry hence his ability to turn a bad situation into a very prosperous one.

“I have been working on my album for two years now and it hasn’t been easy. It has been a long process of trying to find my rhythm both physically and spiritually after the turbulent times I had to go through last year.

A lot of soul-searching goes into some of these things and trying to establish what I feel good singing about, what I feel for my fans and the message I want to send across must be carefully diagnosed to satisfy every sphere of human life.

I don’t have to sacrifice my artistic integrity in order to succeed, but good work” Castro emphasised.

Castro reiterated his belief and the integrity of Asamoah Djan and said that Baby Jet on board this new album will reenact his image and propel him to higher heights once again. He is grateful to his management team, DJ Amess and Akwesi for being there for him.
