Despite the several news reports on how Ghanaian hip-life musician, Castro, supposedly drowned in the Volta Lake last Sunday, rapper Okra Tom Dawidi says until the body is recovered, he does not believe Castro is dead.
Castro went missing on Sunday July 6, 2014, while jet skiing on the Volta Lake at Ada where he was holidaying with Black Stars’ Captain, Asamoah Gyan and some other friends.
Reports say Castro drowned while trying to save Janet Bandu, an acquaintance he met on the trip. Most people have already concluded that both Castro – born Theophilus Tagoe – and Janet are dead.
But Okra Tom who has worked with the ‘Bone Shaker’ hit maker on various projects, told NEWS-ONE that he considers Castro missing until authorities are able to recover his body.
“I don’t know why, but I feel Castro is still alive and until I see his corpse, I believe he is alive. For now, I only know he is only missing,” he stated.
Okra recounted that he met Castro in 2003 at the Hush Hush studios at the early stages of their musical career.
“Castro is a very funny guy. He likes to create jokes anytime we are in the studio, and he is a lovely and calm guy. Ultimately, he respects everybody because he has hassled through music before getting where is now. I have known Castro since 2003, and it was music that brought us together. We met at Hush Hush Studios,” he added.
“I believe in spirituality and I believe this world is very deep. There are so many things living with human beings on earth that are beyond us. But I can’t single out the girl because I don’t really know her. I believe she has got friends, family and she was also living a normal life. So with the marine spirit thing, I can’t really say anything about it,” he said.
