Cecilla Marfo Turns Launching Into Crusade

When given the chance to be very candid on what happened last Sunday in Kumasi at the Sports Hotel Recreational Centre, I would say without mincing with words that the organizers gave a wrong name to a programe which was meant to outdoor a gospel album.

In reality, it was the album launch of Cecilia Marfo who brought us hit gospel tracks like “mamre angu, afunumu ba and dikan, but at the end of the programe the purpose was drastically changed from what we knew it would be.

The album launch which was Mastered by three influential people in Kumasi in the persons of Otsunoko of Fox fm, Asanka Boyoyo of Nhyira fm and Evangelist Belinda saw a greater numbers never seen in the history of gospel album launches in the city of Kumasi according to pundits after the event.

Seasoned gospel artistes like the all rounders Willie and Mike were on hand to do what they are known doing best that is to worship the good Lord through music. Police officer turned gospel musician DSP Kofi Sarpong was also there with his unique style of dancing whiles Ernest Opoku Jnr also supported the star of the day on the stage.

It was more fun and excitement when these artistes graced the show and gave revelers a good dose of their good music making the dance floor busier than never with no space to breathe. Whiles everybody thought that was going to be the feeling to the end, Cecilia Marfo mounted the platform and every thing was different with a rather charged atmosphere like the one which can be likened to a crusade ground.

Looking very charged the first time on the stage speaking only in tongues, people started screaming whiles Cecilia also laid hands on the fans. The audience could not get enough of her as they tried breaking the security codes available to touch her garments and to receive her toffees which were used as a point of contact to the people.

All who purchased the CD`s went away with toffees which had been prayed over by the artiste. She was emphatic on those who needed babies as she stated initially it was the vision she had before the launching when praying.

“I want to remind you that you have not just come to an album launch because i don't see it as such but want to allow the spirit of God to operate” Cecilia said whiles on the stage. Despite the heavy down pour of rain during the event, fans defied all odds as they were influenced by the power of God.

Almost everybody who could pray in tongues was heard doing just that with some falling of their feet. Even though Cecilia was supposed to perform her songs when she was called onto the stage by Mc Otsunoko, she followed the directions of God laying hands on people and doing just acapela versions of the hit tracks which was taken over by the crowd.

A post interview with the artiste proved that she has been praying and waiting for this day so it was the work of God which was operating but it was not actually an album launch as people thought it to be. She was grateful to everybody who supported her in the launch especially Cebex whom she calls her father and the CEO of Unity Oil for his support as well.

In a separate interview with her manager Cebex as to whether he would be doing another launch in Accra, he was a little pessimistic but told this reporter to get that necessary information later in Accra. The manager was even overwhelmed by the attendance of the launch as he thanked everybody who made it successful on the day.

Well, Flex could not wait till the end of the programe as even at 8pm more people were coming in through the rains as Cecilia was on the stage prophesying to people. If the Accra launch becomes a reality, don't hesitate to be there because it was full of blessing.
