Renowned Ghanaian radio broadcaster and entrepreneur, Dr. Gilbert Abeiku Aggrey Santana has voiced out that Ghanaian celebrities must be committed to giving back to the society by contributing their quota through social responsibility activities.

He stated that “the purpose of life is to be beneficial to others and therefore, it is time celebrities in Ghana touch lives positively and give back to the society.”

In an exclusive interview, Abeiku acknowledged his respect for people who make it a point to listen and contribute to radio programs especially his drive time show on Okay FM.

He indicated that, listeners and audience who contribute to any media programme play a key role to the success of that media entity and must be appreciated.

He explained that celebrities, especially those in the creative arts industry; media, musicians, actors, and all other sectors must understand that they are been sustained by fans who appreciate what they do and therefore, these celebrities must also reciprocate that gesture.

“Where you are is an opportunity from God and you are nobody without the people who love and appreciate your talent”, he said.

Abeiku has initiated a lot of rewarding activities such as the loyal drive time listener award that rewarded Eric Amo with a Hyundai Atos during the 5th Year Celebration of Okay FM.

He has promised to do more and be actively involved in activities that would help other people and their communities.

“Aside helping the society as a whole, I am also planning to reward loyal listeners with free vacation trip packages and even a house” he added.
