Celebrities thrill at Lydia Forson's 'A Letter from Adam' premiere

Last Friday all roads led to the Silverbird Cinemas in Accra where actress Lydia Forson successfully premiered her first produced movie, titled A Letter From Adam.

Ahead of the premiering event, the movie attracted enormous support from some stakeholders in the movie industry and the corporate community.

As expected, some of the biggest names in Africa’s movie industry came out in their numbers to wow their fans on the red carpet as they supported the one-time Africa Movie Academy Award ambassador.

Among them were Yvonne Nelson, Yvonne Okoro, Reggie Rockstone, Van Vicker, Elikem, Manifest, Pascal Amanfo, Irene Opare and a host of others including the cast.

The surprise of the evening was Haitian-born American actor Jimmy Jean-Louis, who also showed up on the red carpet.

A Letter From Adam is a romantic drama directed by Atlanta-based Ghanaian director Sam Kessie and produced and written by Lydia Forson.

It is a contemporary story about love, loss and hope that will draw audience into a realistic cycle of life seen through the pain of loss, the journey of self-discovery and the courage and strength to find hope in the face of adversity.

Set in the busy, yet simple city of Accra, A Letter From Adam seeks to give the audience an often neglected truth about love—that love doesn’t always come in the form one expects it to.

It stars Lydia Forson, Nollywood’s Wale Ojo, Naa Ashorkor Mensah-Doku, Akorfa Edjeani, Albert Jackson, Jeff Kumordzie, Louie Lartey, Fred Kanebi and a number of other new faces.

Lydia earlier downplayed claims that the story had something to do with her personal life.

Meanwhile, the premiere had an encouraging patronage on Friday. Most movie audience who watched the movie found the story educative.

It subsequently premiered on Saturday at the Weija branch of the Silverbird Cinemas and will still show in the cinemas in the upcoming weeks.
