Celebrity Birthday: Lydia Forson Turns 28 Today!!

Today marks the 28th birthday for our beautiful actress Lydia Forson. Check out Lydia’s letter below she wrote on facebook announcing her birthday to the world. OMG! Ghana wishes our sister a BiG fat happy birthday , may you live to enjoy more!

I woke up this morning not knowing how I felt about this day. Usually my birthday comes with a lot of anticipation and excitement, but for once in a very long time I either didn’t want the day to come, or I wanted it to come and go quickly.

Something very uncharacteristic of me; and I began to wonder why? For years on my birthday I would be frustrated at the mere idea of not doing a party or getting a present. In fact many of my friends have called me a birthday freak, because the whole month of October is my birthday!! I would send list of things I expected to get out to people (yes I have a list I send out to people every year, just to ensure they knew exactly what I wanted) don’t worry, very few people actually got me any of the things on my list, it had become a little joke between my friends. But that’s how obsessed I am with birthdays.

And so as the day approached this year, I kept getting called about my not so famous ‘wish list’ and where the party would be. But I merely brushed them aside, much to their surprise and I’m sure they began to question if everything was alright with me.

Truth is I was frustrated, not at the idea of growing up or getting old, no far from that, but at the idea of not finishing things I expected to have done by this age, feeling like I was running out of time to achieve these set of goals and wanting more time to do them before this day.

And in my eagerness to complete these things, forgot the true meaning of a birthday! Birthdays are not about how many presents you receive or parties you have, it marks another milestone in your life. A statement that states : I made it, I am here, I’m alive!!!

So often we measure the quality of life by the things we have, but the quality of life goes beyond that; it’s about the life we have lived so far, how fulfilled we are and how if it’s our last day on earth we can go knowing we enjoyed it to the fullest.

I look around and I’m disappointed at what I nearly missed by focusing on the wrong things.

The unconditional love I have from my family who never fail to tell and show me just how important I am.

My friends who make me laugh and share in my little mischief and adventures.

And my fans who show me so much love from afar. Sometimes we’re so caught up looking at the BiG picture we forget the little details that make the picture big And so I celebrate the quality of my life today!!

I’ve had 28(twenty eight) AMAZING years of love, laughter, tears, hard work ….LIFE

I titled this blog post with my age, because as I grow I begin to appreciate that age isn’t something we should run away from, but should embrace with the knowledge that it signifies how far you’ve made it and just how blessed you are to be here. So spread the word, BREAKING NEWS: I’m 28 And I’m excited for the years to come!!

Thank you all for being part of my life, and may the next chapter be as exciting as the rest have been.God Bless You
