The 2018 edition of the Central Music Awards (CMA) will take place on Wednesday, December 26 (Boxing Day) at the Centre for National Culture (CNC) in Cape Coast, organisers have announced.

The event is being organised by the Heritage Entertainment with sponsorship from some of the industry stakeholders.

This year’s event will be even bigger and better, and it is expected to attract a large number of music fans, stakeholders, artistes and their managers.

A number of performing artistes who hail from the region have been invited to perform at the event alongside some of the nominees and guest artiste. The red carpet and cocktail event, BEATWAVES gathered, will be hosted by one of Ghana’s celebrities.

In an interview, the Public Relations Officer (PRO) of Heritage Entertainment, Mani Kay, said this year’s event promises to be more competitive than the previous one.

Since its establishment seven years ago, the awards scheme has grown to be the most anticipated awards scheme on the entertainment calendar in the Central Region.

According to him, a lot of packages have been put in place to make this year’s event a memorable one.

Mani Kay added that CMA is being organised to reward artistes, music stakeholders and other personalities in the region who have contributed immensely towards the music industry in the region and in Ghana.

Some of the previous winners were Teephlow, Mikey GH, Orkortor Perry and eShun.
