Tamale, Nov. 23, GNA - The Central and Upper East regions thrilled fans at the National Festival of Art and Culture (NAFAC 2010) at Tamale on Tuesday with spectacular performances of music and dance. Many of the fans, including the Northern Regional Minister, Mr Moses Bukari Mabengba, and Central Regional Minister, Mrs Ama Benyiwa Doe and the Deputy Upper East Regional Minister, Mrs Lucy Awuni, could not hold back their excitement and joined the dancers and the drummers at the Jubilee Park.
NAFAC 2010 was officially opened on November 20 and is being celebrated under the theme; "NAFAC-Promoting unity, technology and wealth creation for a better Ghana: the role of the youth in nation building". The festival had since attracted chiefs and traditional leaders as well as cultural groups across the country to showcase their rich cultural heritage.
Madam Ama Benyiwa Doe expressed the hope that the Central Region would become the prime investment and trade destination in the country in few years' time, adding that the region had the best of the tourist sites in the country.
Mrs Awuni commended the NAFAC celebrations over the years that had ensured that the country's traditions and festivals were preserved.
