Ceval Gospel Awards Debut In November

Ceval Consult, an Accra based organisation, is for the first time organising a National Competitive Awards Celebration for music and arts with its emphasis on music for its maiden edition.

The programme, which has been named the Ceval Gospel Awards is been officiated by the Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA) with Databank Financial Services Limited as the official event statisticians.

The programme which was launched in June this year, includes categories such as the 'Most Popular Gospel Song', 'Best Gospel Album of the Year', 'Gospel Artiste of the Year', 'Best Male Artiste', 'Best Female Artiste', 'New Gospel Artiste of the Year', 'Best Inspirational Song'.

Others are, the 'Best Motivational Song', 'Best Choral Group', 'Best Contemporary Group', 'Worship Song of the Year', 'Prayer Song of the Year', 'Praise Song of the Year'.

The rest are 'Best Music Video', 'Best Collaboration', 'Gospel Station of the Year', 'Gospel Presenter of the Year', 'Gospel Music Reporter of the Year' and 'Distributor of the Year'.

Artistes wishing to participate must have had their works released between January 2004 and December 2005. The proposed month of the finals of this programme is the first weekend of November 2006, while submission of works, which is on going and ends on August 30.

This will be followed by a 30-miunte biweekly count down and the assessment of categories by panelists which will be crowned by voting via print and text messaging.

The main objective of this programme is to make it an annual event that will in the shortest time span Christian music and arts across the continent.
