Some patrons of the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMAs) mainly Stonebwoy and Shatta Wale’s fans are taking a long-drawn fight against Chatter House to demand a refund of the monies they used in voting.

Among the strategies they will be deploying, aside rallying around on social media, the fans have hinted that the final option of hitting the offices of Chatter House in Accra is firmly on the table.

Since the decision to strip Stonebwoy and Shatta Wale off all awards won at the VGMAs was announced, angry fans of the artistes have have expressed their disgust and have started a #ReturnOurMoney campaign on all social media platforms.

Ghanacrusader is reliably informed that fans of the two artistes who hitherto have not seen eye to eye are now burying their differences to unite to confront Charter House.

A close Shatta Movement fun from the Ashanti region disclosed to Ghanacrusader that they will also be going to court to force Charter House to give their monies back to them.

“We are warning them. We are going all out. We have two parts: some of our members will go rough, others will go smooth and gentleman. So Charter House, watch out, we are coming for you,” he warned.

Public Relation’s Officer of Charter House, George Quaye said in an interview with peace FM that the votes did not really count in determining who the winners were so there was no way they would refund the monies to the people. “Let’s not forget the winners were not solely determined by the votes by the fans. What about the board and academy who left their various assignments to vote on who wins?”

His statement has incensed many people who patronised last Saturday’s event with some blaming Charter House for the lax in security arrangements that made Stonebwoy and his group to enter the auditorium with a gun. Rapper Sarkodie said Charterhouse should not be apportioning blame to the two artistes involved in the brawl on the stage alone but their inability to provide good security coupled with “their wrong organisational system which encourages misconduct, like making ticket sales open to just anybody and not the industry players” must also be looked into.

#ReturnOurMoney is trending on social media as many people are planning to boycott the award event next year if Charterhouse and Vodafone Ghana do not give their monies back to them.
