Musician Joe Mettle has explained that choosing the Accra Sports Stadium for the Praise Reloaded concert was not about claiming bragging rights.
Instead, he felt a spiritual prompting to create an inclusive space where everyone interested could attend the event.
Speaking to Joy FM in an interview, Joe Mettle clarified, “The decision was to open it up to allow more people. Over the years, we've always had rules and ticketing. Sometimes people can afford it, sometimes they cannot.”
Reflecting on the venue choice, he shared, “When we prayed about the venue and felt led to choose the Accra Sports Stadium this year, one thing my spirit sensed was the need to open it up and invite more people. No restrictions – whether you can afford it or not, just come. We even have partners helping with transportation for students to the stadium.”
Addressing concerns about motives, Joe Mettle emphasized, “It’s not about claiming bragging rights. Our goal is to glorify the name of the Lord. Of course, we want to fill the stadium to God’s glory, but it’s not about us boasting. It’s about allowing God to move people’s hearts to attend.”
Praise Reloaded is scheduled for Sunday, June 30, 2024, at the Accra Sports Stadium.
