Several leading people in Ghana's entertainment industry have claimed in recent days that Ghanaian actress, Christabel Ekeh, is suffering from mental illness.
The entertainment figures say Christabel's alleged mental challenge could be what informed the "strange" pictures she recently posted on Instagram, which drew condemnation from some members of the public.
Actress Lydia Forson is one of those who have raised this possibility.
In a Facebook post on Friday, she compared Christabel's case to that of a UCC female student who did something similar in 2015.
Lydia said, at the time, she warned that the UCC student should not be condemned because she could be suffering from mental illness.
She said it later turned out that the lady was a bipolar patient. The actress said a similar thing could be happening to Christabel and warned people against criticising her.
"Today a Ghanaian actress has done something similar and I'm in no position to talk about her mental state or why she did it, but I'm appalled that we've not learnt anything from the past.
"We're focused on condemning people for their actions than trying to find out what led them to it in the first place. What happened to being our brothers and sisters keepers?" she wrote.
