Church Leader Commits Suicide Over Sex

A man described as the leader of a popular church at Osiem, near Kukurantumi in the Eastern Region, has committed suicide after stabbing wife who refused to have sex with him. Adom FM in Tema reports that the dead man, Kwabena Oduro lived at Osiem with his wife, Felicia Buadu and their two children. Last Tuesday evening Oduro reportedly demanded sex with his wife but she refused with an explanation that she was in her menses.

After a struggle, Oduro allegedly stabbed the wife with a knife. He later went to inform the wife’s senior sister of his crime. On the assumption that the wife died of the stab wounds, the church leader drunk Gammalin 20/20, a poisonous chemical used for treating cocoa plantations.

Adom FM quotes the Eastern Regional Police Commander, Selwin Mettle as saying that Felicia Boadu is responding to treatment at the Koforidua Central Hospital while the body of Kwabena Oduro has been deposited at the Akyem Tafo hospital for autopsy.
