Renowned Comedian, Kofi Adu aka ‘Agya Koo’ has strongly kicked against attempts by some persons to push for an enactment of a co-habitation law.
According to him, such a move is dangerous since it has the potential of increasing crime rate particularly, murder.
The bill on co-habitation, which is at the consideration stage in Parliament, will allow people who are in relationships to enjoy same benefits as married couples if passed into law. In such a situation, the lady in relationship will be entitled to the estate of his partner in case of separation or any unforeseen circumstance such as death.
However, Agya Koo who was making a contribution on Atinka FM’s mid-morning show programme “Edwuma oo” hosted by Roman Fada, said some ladies in a relationship may take advantage of the situation and commit murder in order to annex the properties of a rich partner.
This, he said could create fear and panic as some greedy people will try at anything including murder and blackmail just to grab properties. He further argued that Ghanaians may be forced to marry non-Ghanaians to avoid being trapped by the co-habitation law.
He therefore called on all Ghanaians to reject such a dangerous idea or suggestion.
