Movie Director, Eddy Nartey has indicated that complacency is gradually killing the Ghana movie industry.

According to him, most actors and actresses “think” they have arrived and therefore are not disciplined towards the career that has given them that fame they are enjoying.

Recalling an encounter he had with one actress, he said “I gave my actress 7:00 am and she reported around 2:45 pm. We had breakfast and had set up for everything but we had to wait for the actress who came very late”.

Eddy said what kills him most is the fact that most actors and actresses do not read their scripts and therefore cannot interpret their character.

He said “They don’t know what they are doing. They cannot interpret their character. They think of how they look on the screens rather than interpreting what the script says. So when an actor is from a village she still needs makeup that makes her look good”.
