Contest seeks to empower young women

The Sleek cosmetics brand and Ladies in Prestige and Purpose (LIPP GLOBAL), an outfit that seeks to ignite the spirit of self-help in the Ghanaian youth, are out on a year’s search for ambassadors to represent the Sleek brand.

At the official launch of the search in Accra recently, Ghanaian international model and a partner of LIPP, Ms Kate Techie-Menson, said the project would create a useful environment for young adults, especially females, to identify their talents and start successful careers in modeling and the art of make-up.

“This initiative is to get young female adults to identify their calling in life early and take concrete steps to start the journey early so they can rise to their full potential,” Ms Techie-Menson said.

Auditions will be held in Accra on February 28 and on March 7 in Kumasi where four participants will be selected from each place to compete as finalists.

A model and make- up artiste would eventually be selected to lead the campaign to be ambassadors for the sleek brand with a variety of accompanying prizes.

Ms Rebecca Donkor, Managing Director of LIPP, said at the contest launch that the project would help inculcate the practice of combining commercial activities with academic pursuits in young female adults.
