Couple in court for disturbing public peace

Elmina, June 21, GNA The Elmina Magistrate Court has imposed a fine of 200,000 cedis on one Samuel Donkoh for disturbing public peace. Donkoh who pleaded guilty to the charge would in default serve a month prison term.

Prosecuting, Police Inspector Joshua Eduful told the Court presided over by Mr Kwame Ohene-Essel that on March 4, this year, the accused and his wife Adwoa Fosuaa bought a goat on credit from the complainant at the cost of 150,000 cedis.

He said the complainant identified only as Sarah went to collect her money from the couple who gave her 100,000 cedis and asked her to come for the remaining 50,000 cedis later.

Inspector Eduful said after a week, Sarah went back to collect the remaining amount, but this did not go down well with Fosuaa who quarrelled with the complainant.

He said the accused joined his wife to beat up Sarah into a state of unconsciousness.

The complainant was sent to Kissi Health Post by sympathisers where she was treated and discharged.
