David Dontoh has decried the state of the Creative Art Industry stressing that the sector is not progressing.
The veteran actor made the remark in an interview with GHOne insisting that industry isn’t getting enough push to boost the sector.
“If we are able to train young talented individuals to such an extent that they can compete with international artistes, that is when we can say that the creative art sector is developing,” he said.
He lamented how Accra which is the capital city of Ghana lacks Performing Art Centers or theaters stating that it is one of the major setbacks thwarting the development of the sector.
“You see if people have to travel as far as Weija to National Theater in Accra to watch art performances; how can interest be whipped up?” he queried.
He recommended that government should streamline Creative Art curriculum at all levels in school and enforce laws governing the industry to salvage the ailing sector.
