Cweku Ritchii set to release 'Spark Ma Motor'

He is simply a genius. Owusu Richard known in showbiz circles as Cweku Ritchii has been described by music connoisseurs as one of Ghana’s finest acts yet to be celebrated.

After 8 years of avoiding being in the limelight, Cweku, a proud native of Kenyasi has hearkened to the insistent calls from his numerous fans as he releases his maiden single-track album.

Professionally, this is his maiden album even though he has been singing for 8 eight years now.

“I get my inspiration from life experiences,” Owusu Richard said in a chat.

Asked what new he is bringing to the music scene now that he has decided to come out of his closet, he replied: “Bringing peace and unity in the music industry. I believe in togetherness and with that, we can get to [the] Grammys.”

Apart from the uniqueness of his lyrics, Cweku Ritchii who describes himself as a versatile artiste has adopted a blend of both contemporary Western and local music, making it easier for all to appreciate.

Despite initial challenges in getting the right studios to record the track, the talented musician’s single titled “Spark Ma Motor”, was finally produced by Creative Entertainment Music and Engineered by Kofy Control.

The track which would be launched soon details the artiste’s pursuit of a beautiful lady amply inspired by her curvaceous body, is already enjoying encouraging rotation on various radio stations across the country and myriad of thumps up on social media.

To his numerous fans, the ‘Spark Ma Motor’ hit maker hopes to use good and inspirational music to put Ghana on the world map.

The 27-year-old aside his hobbies of listening to music, writing songs and watching entertainment shows believes music happens to be a very fast way of conveying information.

To his fellow musicians, Cweku has a piece of advice: “Together we stand, divided we fall. We can achieve anything when we come together as artistes”.

The young musician was inspired to go into music by a friend who believed he had a unique talent he could nurture.

“It all started after I completed Senior High School when I met a childhood friend called Stanley Mathew, a beat maker and a rapper who encouraged me to take music as my profession after he heard me singing.

“From there he made a beat for me to ride on and I created my first ever song titled "calling". That’s how it all started,” he recalled.

Cweku Ritchii is an embodiment of a new wave of an exceptional talent with ‘Spark Ma Motor’ heavily influenced by afro pop, R&B and rap.

He look forward to breaking boundaries with his music as he prepares to release more quality songs and videos.
