D.D Mackay releases new album

Kwabena Ansong aka D.D Mackay, who announced his presence in the music industry a decade ago has launched his latest soul-touching musical album, Wonua Enyea Wonua Nonoin Accra.

The album launch attracted a lot of dignitaries including certain stakeholders in the music industry who were treated to good highlife tunes by some of the highlife musicians who performed at the event.

Mackay, whose songs are yet to make a big impact on the Ghanaian music scene, said all is set for the release of his latest album on the music market.

The new album, according to him, has a lot of good danceable songs which will soon be aired on some selected radio stations in the country. The lyrics in all the songs on the album were neatly arranged with sensational and inspirational rhythms, making the album a unique one.

Most of the songs on the eight-track album were fast mid-tempo, rendered in highlife, with a beautiful rhythm and a great bass tune laced with sweet drum beats to match.

The album features a use of the vast resources of indigenous Ghanaian rhythms to create refreshing compositions and re-arrangements that tend to capture and sustain the interest of the listener.

The lyrics on the album were carefully chosen in order to communicate to everybody, and all the songs on the album have high soul-touching themes.

Mackay’s music is a combination of excellent songwriting skills, good vocals and instrumentation. The album is set to create stiff competition for established artistes, particularly those already making waves in the music field.

He released his 1st album “Odo Sunsum” in 2001, followed by his second album titled “Yopoo” that earned him the title “Yopoo Man”.

In 2009 he released his third album titled “Ensroma”, though he has not yet gained much recognition in the highlife industry his quest to promote Ghanaian hi-life is unfazed.
