The “burn the mic” comedy show was held last Sunday at the Ghana College of Surgeons auditorium and Ghana's King of Comedy; Derick Kobina Bonney popularly known as DKB was on the bill to perform. Yeah, your guess is as good as mine; he 'killed' his performance.
I think by now we must all agree to the simple fact that Ghana comedy has grown. This was very evident last night as DKB continued to give us reasons not to doubt
Ghana comedy. DKB took to stage and started his performance by showing of his sleek dance moves, then further went on to show how the dance 'azonto' can be used in place of speech in various scenarios including Ghana police directing traffic with it.
As if that was not enough to crack ribs of those present, he further went on with his well-structured jokes that would leave a mark for many years to come. It was a well-attended show of foreigners which I believe gave DKB the urge to give an amazing
performance on the night to prove that Ghanaians can also make them laugh till they pee in their pants.
After DKB’s performance I have come to believe that Ghana is ready for the world and who better to lead us reach such a height is none but the king himself.
Burn the mic was a WeEvent Ghana initiative and sponsored by Delta Airline.
