Jamaican reggae Legend, Jepther McClymont, known in showbiz as Luciano made a comment about the youth in dancehall music when he was in Ghana to perform at the “your world and mine concert”.

According to the living Legend, most of the current dancehall artiste preaches violence and promiscuity which do not help the society.

“Dancehall has brought violence into the heart of the youth. Most of these dancehall artiste starts on a decent note and later veer into morally reprehensible lifestyle and begin to preach such lifestyles in their songs,” said Luciano.

Sean Taylor, a young, talented dancehall artiste in an interview on Infotainment on Anapua105.1fm shared his view on what Luciano said.

“It is the kind of lyrics and song dancehall artiste sings. You will see artiste A and artiste B hitting themselves in a song” he said

The rising dancehall artiste added that some of these things are not well understood by fans and then they turn out to take it in a different way, that’s why it makes it look like the artistes are violent but the artiste themselves don’t like violence.

“When there is peace there will be more money for the artiste, when there’s no peace nobody will come to a venue for a show” he added.
