Dancehall in Ghana is dead and gone; Hiplife reigns now – Kwaw Kese feeling happy

For the past years in Ghana music industry, Dancehall was the icing on the cake kind courtesy Shatta Wale. For Shatta on daily basis make it into the news for both good and bad reasons.

But fortunately or unfortunately, Shatta’s biggest rivalry Stonebwoy pulled a gun at the auditorium of her just ended Vodafone Ghana Music Awards. Consequently, they were dragged to court.

As a result, Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy have been forced to smoke peace pipe and now, the rappers specially Strongman and Medikal have taking over Ghana music industry. It’s in this light that Kwaw Kese has asserted that Dancehall in Ghana is dead and can never be revived.

Kwaw Kese during the ‘lyrical battle’ between Strongman and Medikal revealed that his ‘Dondo’ song is the cause of their feud. He emphasized that his song has revived the Hiplife genre which was overshadowed by the Dancehall.

Recall that Kwaw in an interview on Zylofon FM disclosed that Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy were keeping the dancehall genre alive and that their hype has gone down after they smoked the peace pipe.

Kwaw Kese also opined that rap music has taken over the music industry now. Besides, he took to his twitter handle to divulge that Dancehall is no more and people hurling insults at him are dancehall lovers who just can’t accept the bitter truth.
