Tema, Feb. 22, GNA - A middle-aged woman who was found in a nursing uniform at the Tema General Hospital is now in the hands of the police.
The suspect, Madam Comfort Tetteh, during her arrest by the hospital authorities was not able to give reasons for being in the uniform and where she had them.
Briefing the Ghana News Agency (GNA), the Principal Health Services Administrator, Mr Kingsley Asamoah Bediako said a night nurse on duty met Comfort this morning in the hospital premises and became suspicious about her because of the dangling ear-rings she was wearing, which was not the prescribed one for nurses.
He said in the process of interrogation, Comfort took to her heels but was arrested and sent to the general office for further interrogation.
The suspect, he added was not able to give any tangible reason for being in the hospital but broke down into tears and pleaded for forgiveness.
She has now been handed over to the police for further investigations.
According to the administrator, the hospital had a similar case about a week ago when a teenage girl entered one of the wards and bolted away with a hand bang belonging to one of the nurses.
He said the hospital at the moment has only two watchmen and is trying to engage the services of some private security agencies to improve on its security system.
