Two of the singers, Edna and Cynthia have lost their mother, Madam Agnes Yaa Akyama after a short illness at the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital in Accra on Saturday. April 24.
Consequently, the group has for now cancelled all their future performances and activities in order to mourn their beloved mother.
The death has taken its toll on the singers who were not prepared for the news even though their mother has been sick for sometime.
In fact, the group just returned from a highly successful trip to Abidjan where they performed at the Palais de Culture when they were greeted with the news on the night of their arrival on April, 26.
As Cynthia puts it; ?I have been contemplating and asking God a lot of questions. We were totally unprepared for this news. I just have to trust God for strength and comfort at this crucial period. We will forever miss her.?
Edna also remarked; ?We can not question God because He is sovereign, but we can not stop grieving and mourning. She has been a pillar in our lives?.
?We can?t imagine life without her. Apart from all the love she showered on us, she had been the nanny for our all children, and that gave us the freedom to pursue our career.?
Monica. The group?s alto singer, described the late Madam Akyama as the mother of the group.
?She will be fondly remembered for her pieces of advice and words of encouragement to us. She always had words of encouragement for us every time,? she said.
Talking about funeral arrangements, Edna said the family would announce the details later.
