The singer walked away with the “Best African Act” at Sunday Night’s MTV Europe Music Awards which took place in London, England.

Davido edged out competition from the likes of Babes Wodumo, Nasty C and his compatriot, Wizkid, to walk away with the biggest African prize on a night that celebrated the success of global music.

Davido shared his excitement at winning the big prize on the night and he dedicated it to those who made it possible for him: “Thank you MTV for this amazing Award. I’m truly honored.
