Nigerian singer David Adeleke, professionally known as Davido on Sunday night (January 27) made history as he sold out the hotly anticipated O2 Arena concert in London.
The 26-year-old joined the exclusive group of top artistes to have sold out the 20,000 capacity venue, including the late Michael Jackson, Wizkid, Drake, Rihanna, Kanye West, Elton John, Adele, Prince, Celine Dion, Britney Spears, Justin Timberlake.
Davido was introduced to the crowd by superstar actor Idris Elba, calling him the youngest African to have sold out the venue.
The singer made an epic entrance arriving on a suspended platform to chants of “Davido Davido Davido” as he performed his 2014 hit song, Aye.
His set list included “Dami Duro”, “FIA”, “If”, “Fall” and “Assurance” among others.
His DMW signees, Mayorkun, Peruzzi, Idowest, Dremo, Yonda and Zlatan, all took turns to perform at the concert.
Afro-pop sensation Victor AD also lighted up the stage with songs with his hit song, “Wetin We Gain”.
