Dear GhanaWeb,
My daughter was an open person, but things began to change after she celebrated her 15th birthday. She used not to lock her door, but nowadays, even when she’s eating, her door is closed.
It raised suspicions, so I opened the room with the spare key I had, and upon a thorough search, I found an empty emergency contraceptive pill under her pillow.
I addressed the issue when she returned from school, and she denied the pill was hers. I did everything and even threatened to report her to her father, but she insisted it wasn’t hers.
I had sleepless nights because I didn’t believe my daughter, so I went the extra mile to search her phone. I wouldn’t have believed it if I had heard rumours that our next-door neighbour was having an affair with my daughter, but the evidence was clear.
When my husband returned from his trip, we called our daughter in, and she confessed their relationship, which has been going on for two years.
My husband assured me that he would deal with our neighbour, but I was not too fond of how he approached the issue. He just warned him to stay away from his daughter, and that was it.
The man needs to be apprehended, but he insists he handled the issue the best way.
Am I the only person who thinks our neighbour should be arrested? What if he extends his behaviour to the other minors in our neighbourhood?
