Dear GhanaWeb: My girlfriend publicly embarrassed me over GH¢8.00

File photo File photo

Dear GhanaWeb,

I encountered a gross attitude from my girlfriend last night, and I still can’t get over it.

Anytime my girlfriend comes over to my place to spend the weekend or visit, I pay for the Bolt she rides in.

I am used to that, but what transpired last night was something else. I feel embarrassed sharing this on your platform, but this issue needs to be addressed; our ladies are going overboard with their behaviour.

My girlfriend called to say that she was coming over, but this time, she picked a commercial vehicle. As we were talking, she told me that she’d soon arrive at my junction.

I told her I was also buying something around the place, so I’d meet her there.

I saw some people engaged in an altercation as I walked towards my junction. I got there, and it was my girlfriend who was arguing with the conductor, and what she said was “he is here.”

This lady was actually waiting for me to pay her GH¢8.00 fare. I had exhausted the money I had on me, which I explained to her, but she refused to pay.

It became a serious argument, and the comments coming from the mate, driver, and passengers were so embarrassing that I had to borrow money from a MOMO vendor.

What is wrong with the ladies in this generation?

If this is how she’s behaving in a relationship, she will never contribute to anything if I make her my wife.

These ladies should know that marriage is not a relationship, so they should stop making demands on us.
