Dear GhanaWeb: Why should men be allowed to be gynaecologists?

Dear GhanaWeb,

I woke up to a marriage proposal from my boyfriend one morning. He is my kind of man—caring, ‘beautiful’ and a family man—but I humbly turned down his proposal.

Prince is the love of my life but I am scared our marriage will be short-lived because of his occupation.

Insecurities have crept into my mind because he is a gynaecologist. I do trust my boyfriend, but the temptation is something one can hardly resist.

He sees varieties of “vaginas” every day, so what happens if he sees one better than mine and falls in love with it?

Men, on the regular, fall in love with ladies all the time without seeing their promised lands, so what will happen if he has seen the promised land?

I really want to spend the rest of my life with him, but seeing that I’ll feel insecure in my marriage will impede its growth.

I need a peaceful marriage, not one that you’ll always have in the back of your mind that another woman with a beautiful “vagina” is stealing your husband from you.

Or, he has taken this woman on one of his business trips, which is why he hasn’t returned on the expected day.

I love him and do not want to leave him, but I hate his job.

What’s the best decision to make?
