Dee J pops up in Ghana’s music industry

Former Ghana News Agency’s (GNA) Reporter, George Darko, known in music circles as Dee J and one of Ghana’s most promising Hip Life/ Hip Hop sensation has officially released his much anticipated song titled “Omiefu”.

The song, produced by RagoonBeatz with great vocals by Kay Spunky, talks about ‘jealousy’ as some people take every bit of other’s happiness, as a personal attack on what they lacking, “Don’t let someone’s bitterness kill your spirit; happiness is not a crime, so never feel guilty for showing it, let your light shine today and don’t worry about who it makes uncomfortable”.

The song also describes his rap skills as one of the best among his colleague musicians, however, according to the Former GNA reporter, he hopes to build a vibrant music industry with his Act and as well promote unity among Ghanaian artistes.

Darko was born in the early 1990s, 26th February. He had his elementary education at Calvary International and the Radiantway Basic School. From there to Wesley Grammar School and held the position of the Entertainment Prefect in 2008.

He again attended the Ghana Institute of Journalism, where he studied Communication Studies.

The Madina-born rapper started his music at a very tender age at Radiantway Basic School when he had the opportunity to meet and interact with one of Ghana’s finest rappers, Okyeame Kwame; as a youngster, he developed interest in partaking in music contests in his school and neighborhood.

He has then nurtured his skill over a period which drove his aspirations into the limelight.

Dee J loves to play with words and usually rhymes to address issues.
He has a dream of exposing Ghanaian music particularly Hip Life and Hip Hop in an entirely different dimension to the rest of the music world.

He was groomed by MicCheck Recordz and has since 2014 recorded a number of singles as a solo artiste including the new banger “omiefu”.

Dee J has also worked with Nigerian Acts Miz Gold and YungSoul, Koo Ntakra, Belce, Kwame Seseben, Kay Spunky; and yet to feature YaaYaa, Noella Wiyaala and others.
