Ace Gospel musician Evangelist Diana Asamoah has paid a glowing tribute to the late Music Producer George Forest, saying he was very instrumental in her musical career.

She said the death will really affect her career, adding that the music industry has lost a great personality.

‘I was into worship songs, it was George who introduced me to highlife and reggae songs, I rejected the idea at the initial stage but he encouraged me to persevere, he was very hardworking, I have worked with so many people but he was outstanding. I used to disturb him a lot when working, just one song I will insist that he plays ten times and he will do it,’ she intimated.

According to her, upon a visit to the deceased at the hospital, he complained that the oxygen was not working properly.

The late Sound Engineer died Wednesday dawn at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) after yet unknown sickness.

Speaking on Abusua FM’s Abusua Mmre with Nana Hemaa, she explained that the sound engineer will be greatly missed, saying he really pampered her.

‘He told me about his sickness when I called him on phone three weeks after returning from abroad, I thought he wanted to see me that is why he was pulling that prank, so three days later he called and asked me if I will not visit to pray for him, so I asked if it was true and he responded yes, when I got to his house I was told he has been admitted at the hospital, so I went there to see him at a hospital in Tafo and we had a long chat, we used to pound fufu anytime we are working together, so I asked if he has been eating fufu and he responded no. His wife called me three days later that he was admitted at the Kufuor emergency, so I went there, prayed and encouraged him. The next day, I had a phone call that he was dead, I have been crying anytime I hear my own songs, I feel sad,’ she cried.

She said she only takes solace in God’s words. George Forest produced songs for talented musicians such as Diana herself, Gifty Osei, Nana Acheampong, Obaapa Christy, Philipa Baafi and others.
