Do you want us to sit in this economy and die? - Ras Kuuku supports youth exodus

Ghanaian reggae artiste, Ras Kuuku has voiced his concerns about the economic decline that is driving some youth to seek better opportunities overseas.

He criticized the political system for failing to implement measures that would employ the nation's youth, exacerbating their difficulties and increasing their hardship.

Ras Kuuku lamented the high inflation that results in the rising prices of goods, services, and petroleum, making life challenging for the youth in Ghana.

In a TV3 interview monitored by GhanaWeb, Ras Kuuku asserted his belief that the youth's migration in search of opportunities abroad is justified, as the domestic system fails to support its citizens.

"In this economy, who do you want to die? We divide ourselves into three, then two will go. We will leave no one here so that they will kill them. Look at the weather here and compare it to the one abroad. We always pray, 'Oh, Mama Africa, Mother Ghana.' We want to build it, but the leaders here are making it tough for the people as each day brings increases in petrol, foodstuffs, and other things.

"Where are you going to get that money? Meanwhile, their salaries remain stable. So how do you improve your life system? I'm asking you, are you going to stay here and die in the system? That is not good, so you go and die in the system abroad," he said.

The nation's economic struggles have sparked grievances among some citizens, leading to demonstrations and online protests.
