Watch Andy Madjitey—directed beach visuals for “Don’t Keep Me Waiting,”an impressive mid-tempo duet by Kwesi ARTHUR and KiDi.
Scrumptious highlife produced by NytWulf, the joint sees the pair plunge —swiftly and inevitably into the familiar language that characterises thorough infatuation; promises to break the law for a lover’s sake, or dedicate the entirety of one’s heart to her.
The subject matter and bpm of “Don’t Keep Me Waiting,” while they’re the undisputed forté of KiDi (whose hooks and guest verses litter half of current Ghanaian hits), also prove Arthur —a hiphop act at heart —as a protean musician, singing throughout the song, with the quality that matches KiDi himself.
The joint, published under Ground Up Chale, adds to other vastly accepted melodies from Arthur this year. Author of “Live From Nkrumah Krom”—the 5-track debut EP, the “Grind Day” man, vivacious and frequently bare-chested, is reportedly gearing up for an album release before the close of the year.
A BET nominee, Arthur is 2018 winner of the VGMA Hip-hop Song of the Year category
