Former PRO and board Chairman of the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMAs), Nii Ayite Hammond has advised Christians especially the gospel musicians not to live fake life to please others just because they do ‘gospel songs'
According to the outspoken chairman of the VGMA board, gospel musicians should be real by leading their own lives that will make them happy rather than hurting themselves by doing things just to please the public abandoning their own happiness in the process.
To him, it is quite worrying to see gospel musicians or perhaps Christians for the fear of being criticized deviate from leading the original life that brings happiness to them.
“Happiness is very important in the life of every individual and I don’t know why people will sacrifice their happiness for the fear of being criticized. It is better for people to call you or figure you out by a lifestyle you once lived that made you happy than lead a life pleasing others” he stressed.
“You shouldn’t limit your happiness as a Christian or gospel musician just for the fear of being criticized by the public. If you should listen to the definition of happiness from the public because of what you do or just to be appreciated by people, your whole life will be in regret” he further stated.
Nii Ayite Hammond on the TIG Show on Hitz FM also accepted leading a wayward life some years back. He narrated how he loved smoking herbs before being arrested by Christ.
