Talented young Disk Jocker, DJ Switch has commended government’s Free SHS policy scheduled to be implemented in September. According to him, the project will go a long way to curb the practice of forced marriages since the financial burden of most parents will be reduced.

Speaking at the sidelines of the Free SHS campaign Saturday, she advised youth and parents to take advantage of the Free SHS and allow their wards to benefit from the program.

The season 8 talented kids winner advised parents against forcing their kids into early marriages since it will ruin the future they could have should they tap into the countless opportunities presented by the policy.

The Free SHS campaign organized in collaboration with E On 3 Group and the Ministry of Education saw award-winning movie star Abraham Attah lead hundreds of youth in a walk from the Accra Mall to the Aviation Social Centre. Flyers among other things containing information about the policy were distributed as they moved along the streets.

The ‘Free Senior High School’ project was a major campaign promise of the governing New Patriotic Party during the 2016 electioneering period and is expected to begin in the next academic year, September 2017 beginning with the first year students.

DJ Switch emerged the winner of TV3’s children’s programme, Talented Kidz Season 8.

The nine-year-old girl beat stiff competition from 7 others at the grand finale which was held at the National Theatre.
