Driver Dies In Double Jeopardy

A driver of the Mfantseman District Assembly, identified only as Paapa, was knocked down and killed by two hit-and-run drivers on the Saltpond-Cape Coast Highway.

The driver of the first car sped off immediately after knocking Paapa down. A Good Samaritan who attempted to carry the driver off from the center of the road had to run for his life when another vehicle showed up knocking Paapa down again and running over his head.

The incident occurred at about 9.30pm last Friday when the deceased was returning home after work at the on-going Central Region Investment Fair. The Mfantsiman District Chief Executive, Kofi Wilson, described the driver’s death as not only shocking but also a great loss to the assembly. Police investigations are continuing and no arrests have been made.
