Dumelo, Yvonne Nelson, others beat Mahama, Akufo Addo in social media ranking

Social Media is a platform that connects individuals and corporate bodies together for the purpose of sharing information.

Its introduction has over the years received major patronage as thousands of people continue to enroll into to various platforms.

Though its invention met number of criticisms in terms of content by some individual users, its contribution towards the success of the Ghanaian youth and corporate bodies is imperative. It has proven a place where global brands disseminate information that has the tendency of building upon their outlook.

In this capacity, the Ghana Social Media Ranking is an annual ranking to celebrate Ghanaian brands that thrive on social media specifically both on Facebook and Twitter. These two were strategically considered base on their ability to allow for larger audience or followers.

The ranking below is as of 29th December, 2014.

Below is the ranking for Ghanaians who have the biggest audience and influence on the most patronised social media platform in Ghana.

1. John Dumelo – 2,155,891

Ghallywood and Nollywood actor and entrepreneur with over 2 million followers from the globe.

2. Yvonne Nelson – 1,367,618

Yvonne Nelson, also a controversial multiple awarding celebrity actress and producer in the Ghanaian Movie Industry.

3. Kofi Annan -1,095,102

Kofi Annan, a former United Nations Secretary General with the global influence has 1,095,102 followers on Facebook.

4. Funny Face -647,879

Funny Face is a multi-talented Ghanaian Comedian. He is a musician and does a lot of professional movies and notable is the Hit Series on Ghana’s TV3 Chorkor Trotro which brought him to the limelight. He drives a Range Rover given to him by Adebayor as a birthday gift.

5. Sarkodie – 519,534

Sarkodie stands out as the most celebrated Ghanaian musician with international awards such as the BET.

6. John Mahama – 443,944

President of the Republic of Ghana, His Excellency is also known to have used this medium as the easiest way to share information with his people.

7. Nana Akufo Addo – 426,004

Nana Akuffo Addo happens to be ranked the most influential Ghanaian recently and the Flag bearer of the Largest Opposition party, NPP, in Ghana.

8. Bisa KDei – 382,333

He is a Multiple Awarding Winning Talented Ghanaian Musician.

9. Fuse ODG – 375,259

He is the founder of the This Is New Afrrica (TINA) Movement, the one who took Ghanaian Dance Azonto international with collaborations with Sean Paul and Wyclef Jean

10. Okyeame Kwame -372,254

He is known to be among the pioneers of the Ghanaian Local Music Genre, Hiplife, known popularly as Mr. Versatile.
