The light situation in Ghana is one of the major problems in the country affecting everyone from the production industry to the medical sector.
One of the sectors in the country which is also seriously affected, but hardly spoken of is the music industry, which is costing a lot of musicians recording and production time, and affecting the release of their Album and singles.
Speaking to the awarding winning radio Presenter and musician, Emmanuel Botchway better known by his stage name as Fiifi Selah A.K.A Da Unlimited Fire about his album release and the extent with the power situation is affecting him and his other colleague in the music industry, this was what he had to say;
“The Power Outage Problems (#Dumsor) is slowing the recording of my new album and some of my colleagues because as we all know the light situation in the country is not stable and sometimes goes off during recording so it’s really hard to complete a whole recording section talk less of an album.
And for me I get less time in the studio because I close off air at 3pm from Pluzz Fm and normally lights go off at 6pm and so I am always not able to finish. And because I am taking vocals we can’t use generators because of the noise
About my album I have been recording since January this year with quiet a number of producers like Zappa Mallet, Wazumbi , Oteng, Riddim Boss and many more.
But let my fans know that “a determined hunter doesn’t fear the Jungle” so no matter the obstacle I will finish with my Album.
And By Gods grace the album is 50 % done. Featuring, Stonebwoy, Joel Orleans, Ayesem, but , I am looking forward to working with Yaa Pono, Pappy Kojo , Shatta wale, Samini and kofi Bentil.
Also, I want to prove to critics that CDs sales still relevant that’s why I am recording an album for that market. Which be available at CD shop and online stores and which am sure I will make an impressive sale “
