Following her statement that Ghanaians should eat at their own risk while announcing her departure from the restaurant where she previously worked, Efia Odo has sparked significant concern and confusion among Ghanaians.
Many are questioning why the Ghanaian socialite would make such comments, speculating whether there might be something wrong with the restaurant that the public isn’t aware of.
Entertainment pundit MC Yaa Yeboah on the United Showbiz, echoed these concerns and wondered what might have prompted Efia Odo to make such statements.
“You said you are not affiliated with Eats Avenue and that we should eat our own risk. Are there poisonous substances in the food that we don’t know about?” she quizzed.
MC Yeboah also pointed out that in Ghana, where there have been reports of chop bar operators seeking dubious substances from mortuaries to enhance their business, Efia Odo’s statements warrant serious scrutiny.
“We are in this country where mortuary men are confessing that chop bar operators come for all sorts of things from them to enhance their business. What information are you privy to that Ghanaians do not know?” she asked.
According to her, by now, Efia Odo should’ve been questioned by the relevant authorities regarding her comments.
“One thing that I am concerned about as a citizen is that there are institutions that give restaurants the permits to operate. By now, in every serious country, this girl should be running from one office to the other explaining why she said that.
She emphasised that Efia Odo’s remarks should not be dismissed lightly, given her large influence on social media.
“Efia Odo’s comments shouldn't be taken lightly. On Instagram alone, the lady is clocking 2.5million followers. It’s no joke. She has the influence. So if your brand is associated with such a person, you are assured that she is reaching millions of people,” she retorted.
