The late Ebony Reigns was perhaps one of the artistes of our time that went through emotional, mental and verbal abuse for many reasons primarily due to the way she dresses.

For those who didn’t know her, she was a demon brought on Ghanaians to torment us with her “evil” way of dressing and her seductive stage performances.

When Ebony died, at the tender age of 20, the whole country was in shock. Ghanaians mourned and asked why such a young person could just die in such a gory way.

Videos of how good a soul she had whiles alive started surfacing. Videos of how free spirited she was, how she related to her family especially her sister and father, videos of how her heart was filled with love popped up all of a sudden.

One of such videos was when Ebony tried to talk her manager into being calm over some comments a guest on the same show they were on had tried to downplay Ghana music.

Bullet, her manager who was obviously angry with the comments from the other guest who had phoned in to the show wanted to reply and tell him his piece of mind, but we could see Ebony try to talk her manager out of it, because to her it wouldn’t make him (Bullet) look good.

For someone who is able to calm Bullet, who eventually kept his cool and listened to the whole interview before intervening, all we can say is that she did have a good heart.

Ebony died in a gory accident on the Sunyani-Kumasi highway on the 8th of February with two of her friends, Franky Kuri (who has since been buried) and a soldier, Atsu Vondee when they were returning from Sunyani after visiting her mother.

Her final funeral rites will be held this weekend, 24th March at the forecourt of the State House in Accra with her final resting place going to be the Osu.
