Ghana’s fastest rapper and multiple award-winning artiste, Michael Owusu Addo, known by the stage name Sarkodie has opened up on the untimely and unfortunate death of Priscilla Opoku-Kwarteng.

In a new music video in honor of the late 21-year-old, Sarkodie sent a message to the authorities to ensure that our roads were made safe by constructing better road systems.

The raper revealed that he was hurt by the demise of the singer and called on all Ghanaians to work together to ensure our roads were safe to use.

He revealed that in his own research, he learnt that road accident killed about 5 people in a day which was not the best. The ‘Dangerous’ singer said Ebony Reigns’ death could have been averted had attention been given to the road on which she, together with 2 others, met their end.

Sarkodie said even though it was important to pay attention to the many prophecies that came our way, it was equally important to ensure that we had good roads so as to prevent road accidents.

He added that being a musician, he had travelled the length and breadth of the country and he could attest to the fact that our road system was not the best and that more work needed to be done to curb the occurrence of road accidents.

Sarkodie is billed to perform today, March 23, at the tribute concert which is being organized by the managers of the late dancehall act.

Ebony died in a gory accident on the Sunyani-Kumasi road while returning to Accra from Sunyani. Her childhood friend and PA, Franky Kuri and one air force official, Francis Atsu Vondee, who posed as a bodyguard also died in the car crash.

GHANA, A COUNTRY WHERE PEOPLE DIE LIKE FLIES DAILY ON ITS ROADS, It is very sad for me to pen down this piece. As a Ghanaian, my frustrations with respect to how our people are dying on our roads like animals being slaughtered daily is very unpalatable! Statistics about road accidents in Ghana is very devastating. Averagely, 5 people die daily in Ghana through road accident. This sad situation, over the past eight or so years, if not curtailed, deaths from road accidents can plunge this country into a standstill. Very soon, Ghana is likely to lose the entire energetic workforce through fatal road accidents. Quickly, I want to go straight to my view on how to solve this situation: 1. Dual-carriage lanes must be constructed on all major highways linking all the regional capitals . This will curb the constant head-on collision which has been the order of the day leading to 95% of deaths from Road Accidents. 2. Empower Police Service and Road safety Commission or A new agency must be created which could be a coalition of these two agencies and the Ghana Highways to ensure strict adherence of laws and regular maintenance of our roads. Roads signs and quality roads were all supposed to be supervised by Ghana Highways. Over the years, this particular institution has failed to perform its functions to our satisfaction. I wish to ask politicians, that, for how long can they tell us we are developing, when we cannot feel comfortable moving on our roads comfortably. We are dying by the day. We are all on a time bomb cos no matter how careful you are, another drivers carelessness can kill you. Radical decisions and actions need to be taken to avert this calamity and save Ghana our motherland. Here are few statistics: • In Year 2013: A total of two thousand, and ninety six (2,096) died through accidents and 12,655 persons were injured (https://www.ghanaweb.com/…/Over-2-000-killed-in-road-crashe…...) • Year 2014: : A total of one thousand, eight hundred and fifty six(1,856) Ghanaians died through road accidents that involved 20,442 vehicles(https://www.ghanaweb.com/…/1856-pedestrians-killed-in-2014-…) • Year 2015: : A total of one thousand, six hun

The final funeral rites and burial service of the late Dancehall diva Ebony Reigns have been scheduled for March 24, 2018 instead of the first date, March 17. The postponement follows difficulties to secure a big enough venue for the funeral. She will later be buried at the Osu Cemetery after the final funeral rites are held in Accra at the forecourt of the State House.
