The Minister for Tourism, Arts and Culture, Hon. Catherine Abelema Afeku, has described the death of Priscilla Opoku Kwarteng, known in the showbiz industry as Ebony Reigns, as a great loss to the Creative Arts Industry.

According to her, the ‘Maame Hwe’ artist whose music had taken the country by storm was doing very well to lift the image of the Creative Arts industry very high until her sudden demise, which she noted, is a big blow to the showbiz fraternity.

Although the two never crossed path, Hon. Catherine Afeku said she was someone who enjoyed Ebony’s songs the most.

“We never met but I was someone who really enjoyed her music, particularly, ‘Poison’ and ‘Date your father’.

The Tourism Minister made this observation when interacting with journalists at the One Week celebration of the demise of Ebony Reigns at St. Martins De Porres School, Dansoman, on Sunday, February 18, 2018.

She said with what the young talented artist was able to achieve in life within a short period of time in her music career, she would forever be remembered among the ” greats’.

Ebony Reigns lost her life in a tragic car accident on Thursday, February 8, 2018, on the Sunyani-Kumasi road when returning to Accra after visiting her mother.

She died alongside two other people in the same car she was traveling with.
