Popular radio presenter, Nana Frimpong Ziega, has called on the owner of Eats Avenue to take legal action against Ghanaian socialite, Efia Odo.
His call followed a recent post by Efia Odo on X about the restaurant she claimed ownership of, which he considers defamatory.
Efia Odo, during a recent interaction on UTV’s United Showbiz, publicly mentioned that she solely owns a restaurant.
There were speculations a few days ago that the socialite had been sacked from her restaurant, which stirred reactions on social media.
Looking at how her dismissal was gaining momentum, Efia Odo clarified the issue and said she owned 40% shares in the restaurant.
This followed a tweet by the socialite on X, which read, "Eat there at your own risk.”
Therefore, his reason for calling for the arrest of Efia Odo over her tweet is that the tweet is likely to damage the restaurant’s brand image, posing a risk to future patronage.
Making an appearance on United Showbiz aired on UTV, he said, “If I was supposed to be the owner of Rich Condos, I would have sued Efia Odo. Even in a business where you are a shareholder, you can be asked to step aside. It is part of business. If I were the owner, I'd sue her in court."
"My reason is that, if you take a critical look at her tweet, she has damaged the man’s brand, so just imagine that foreigners have arrived in this country and Google for a nice and plush restaurant, and after his search, he sees Efia Odo’s restaurant. Until that tweet is deleted, when the restaurant pops up, you will see related stories.
“If she said, ‘Eat there at your own risk,’ the reason why you have to take the person to court is that I do not know why you are saying that. I’m sure Efia Odo said that to prevent her fans from going to eat there. In actual sense, if you read the law on defamation, Efia Odo has defamed the brand image of the restaurant.”
Nana Frimpong Ziega furthered that he knew Efia Odo was spewing lies when she claimed ownership of the restaurant during that interaction.
He then associated such a habit with the unnecessary pressure that has been mounted on the youth in recent times.
